The Fear of God

During these times where many things are unknown, it seems like we are in a hopeless situation.

SERMON THEME

Pastor Richard brings us an awesome message about the fear of the Lord, starting with a dramatic reading of Exodus 19. We all have fears, but there is one fear that conquers all other fears. The Fear of the Lord. As we walk in the fear of the Lord, there are characteristics that become evident in our lives.

SCRIPTURES

Isaiah 5:20 AMP; Proverbs 9:10; Psalm 34:11-15; Hebrews 12:14-16; Proverbs 19:23; Genesis 22

*not an exhaustive list

Discuss and Reflect

  • Is there a particular aspect of God-fearing obedience that you find it difficult to embrace

    • Take it to God with humility.

    • Confess your weakness and trust Him to provide you with the power you need to live in holy fear.

  • How can you intentionally pursue holiness?

  • Discuss the 5 characteristics of the fear of God illustrated by Abraham’s story:

    • Abraham obeyed God instantly.

    • Abraham obeyed God when it didn’t make sense.

    • Abraham obeyed even when it was sacrificial.

    • Abraham obeyed when he didn't see a clear benefit.

    • Abraham believed and obeyed to completion

The Father Effect

During these times where many things are unknown, it seems like we are in a hopeless situation.

SERMON THEME

In honor of Father’s Day, Pastors Richard and Joan shared the importance of Fatherhood from a biblical perspective and a father’s impact on the family unit. Those without a father in the home are not without hope, though! There is an eternal Father you and your children can count on – He will fight for you! Always remember and call upon God’s word for you and your children!

SCRIPTURES

Genesis 18:19; Deuteronomy 6:4-7; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 5:1-2; Ephesians 6:4; 2 Timothy 3:16 EXB

*not an exhaustive list

Discuss and Reflect

  • Discuss a time when you have had to humble yourself and ask your child for forgiveness, and Holy Spirit had to help you. If not a child, discuss a time in a different relationship.

  • Discuss the responsibilities of fathers:

    • To train our children in biblical truth.

    • Affirm the biblical identity and purpose in our children.

  • Look at Proverbs 22:15. Discuss how it is misinterpreted and what the interpretation should be.

PRAYER POINT / DECLARATION

We decree California is the Gate of the west and the glory is waiting at this gate. We decree open wide the gates and the King of Glory will come in. 'Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.' Psalms 24:7-8

Justice and Compassion

During these times where many things are unknown, it seems like we are in a hopeless situation.

SERMON THEME

Pastor Richard discusses the biblical view of justice and compassion. When we are in times like these, there are one of two responses. Preservation or transformation. The church has to take the lead on transformation. As we discuss what biblical justice is along with compassion, please search your heart and allow the spirit of truth to lead the way. #dolikewise

SCRIPTURES

Psalm 11:7; Psalm 33:5; Micah 6:8; Matthew 26:52; James 4:12; Proverbs 31:8-9; Luke 10:27-36

*not an exhaustive list

Discuss and Reflect

1.      Who do you identify with? Are you the Levite and the lawyer who find it unfair that God would love everyone?

2.      Do you identify with the priest? Do you say to yourself, “I wish I had time to help? I see the need but don’t have the time.

3.      Do you identify with the Samaritan? You want to help. You have made the decision not to miss the opportunity to serve others.

4.      Have you ever thought about the answer to the lawyer’s question – “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” What, if any, new insights did you gain from reading Luke 10:27-36?

5.      Ask yourself what it might mean to answer the question-- “Will you leave the comfort of the boat to step into the storm of injustice?”

6.      What will you do now?

PRAYER POINT / DECLARATION

We decree that the Lord is ushering in new divine order and anointing into California.

'For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.'

Colossians 2:5

'But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil.'

Psalms 92:10

Ephesians 3:10

Pentecost

During these times where many things are unknown, it seems like we are in a hopeless situation.

SERMON THEME

March 31, 2020 marks the day of Pentecost. The Jewish Festival Shavout is a remembrance of the law given to Moses. God commands blessing on unity and harmony. On the day of Pentecost as referenced in Acts 2, everyone was on one place on one accord in unity and harmony and everyone there (people of various languages and ethnicities) experienced something only Holy Spirit could do. In these challenging times, we need to be in unity and harmony. Prophet Ruckins McKinley has given us a prophetic word that God will use Liberty to be an example of how to love one another.  Today, Pastor Richard discusses Pentecost, racial unity and the ministry of reconciliation

  • How can we practically put our righteous anger where it needs to go?

  • Discuss the ministry of reconciliation as it pertains to the racial divide.

We decree the Lord is developing a new model of His kingdom here in California.

 Isaiah 43:18-19
