Justice and Compassion

SERMON THEME

Pastor Richard discusses the biblical view of justice and compassion. When we are in times like these, there are one of two responses. Preservation or transformation. The church has to take the lead on transformation. As we discuss what biblical justice is along with compassion, please search your heart and allow the spirit of truth to lead the way. #dolikewise

SCRIPTURES

Psalm 11:7; Psalm 33:5; Micah 6:8; Matthew 26:52; James 4:12; Proverbs 31:8-9; Luke 10:27-36

Discuss and Reflect

1.      Who do you identify with? Are you the Levite and the lawyer who find it unfair that God would love everyone?

2.      Do you identify with the priest? Do you say to yourself, “I wish I had time to help? I see the need but don’t have the time.

3.      Do you identify with the Samaritan? You want to help. You have made the decision not to miss the opportunity to serve others.

4.      Have you ever thought about the answer to the lawyer’s question – “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” What, if any, new insights did you gain from reading Luke 10:27-36?

5.      Ask yourself what it might mean to answer the question-- “Will you leave the comfort of the boat to step into the storm of injustice?”

6.      What will you do now?
