3 Keys to Supercharge your Fast
SERMON THEME
· We fast so we move away from something toward something.
We disconnect from our flesh to connect to God. The goal of the Christian life is to become more like Christ – to conform or “Re-present” His image to the lost world. Fasting provides purpose to every test and trial that we experience. Our character of being transformed into His image is developed through the times of testing and trials in our life. The wilderness is often are “heavenly development system” in which we climb the mountain to see the “big picture” of what God sees and is doing in our lives.
· Fasting purifies our Faith.
Fasting and prayer will address unbelief in our lives. When unbelief is present, you will not see the power of God move in your life. Fasting and prayer is the fertile ground for faith and hope to develop which are the two essential ingredients for miracles to take place in our lives.
· Fasting will help us pursue our encounter with God and allow us to know Him more intimately.
Growing in intimacy with God and growing in knowledge of Him is one in the same. The more we know God the more we love God.

· Am I thinking, acting and living in a way that I am more like Christ than I was a month ago, a year ago, etc.
· What are your responses to the tests and trials you may be going through? How are these tests developing your character and increasing your faith in God?
· Are there areas in your life where you need to exercise increased faith to see the power of God move in your life?

Pray That We Know God and Our Identity in Him.
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might.

Fasting for Divine Alignment
SERMON THEME
2020 is the year for Kingdom Alignment in which we declare the fulfillment of prophetic promises given to the church and its individual members. Success in our lives is dependent upon being aligned with God’s perfect will and plan for our lives. God gave us a pattern for doing this. Prayer and fasting aligns us with Heaven’s assignment for our lives. Through prayer and fasting we are obedient in putting God’s kingdom first. All other things come into alignment when we seek to put God first and follow through on his plan for our lives. Isaiah 58 outlines the many benefits of fasting which include healing, answered prayer, forgiveness, provision for us financially and restoration of the power of God in our lives. The hunger caused by fasting should drive us to experience the hunger for God’s presence in our lives and experiencing more of Him.

DISCUSS AND REFLECT
1. Have there been prophetic promises given to you that you have not yet realized that you can declare during this fast and bring them into being? 2. Are there areas in your life or in your family in which you feel need to be better aligned with God’s plan and purposes?? 3. Are there areas in your life in which you need to humble yourself during this fast and seek God’s forgiveness to experience His freedom?
PRAYER POINT
Father God, we ask during this fast that the prophetic word given to each of us would be fulfilled this year as we declare our desire to be aligned with your purpose and will in our lives.
